Blue On Blue

I saw this as I was walking home the other night...
Thursday Evening, Irving St, SF

I didn't want to disturb it. It looked so perfect; all blue on blue.

Seriously- I didn't touch it. I have no idea what the damn thing's about.

You see before you an image of a copy of Rosicrucian Library Volume XXVI by Ralph M. Lewis. (this bio is shorter and has mystic acronyms).

One of these days, I have to visit the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose.

(I've seen the Winchester Mystery House already- but didn't take the garden sculpture tour. Maybe another time. No. I'm just saying that to be polite)

Back in the '80s, I had a copy of Lemuria: The Lost Continent of the Pacific (Rosicrucian Library - Vol. XII). It was a red hardcover with gold lettering. In a nutshell: survivors (or their descendants, or something) of the lost continent of Lemuria (the Atlantis of the Pacific) are living on Mt. Shasta.

But, that's another story.

I'm not sure what's become of the Lemuria book. Which is kind of why I didn't snatch this one up; yet another thing to lose.

But, I also thought: maybe this book was meant for someone else. Let them touch it.

I just liked the blue on blue.

  1. I've BEEN on the Winchester Mystery House Garden Tour! I can tell you all about what you missed: Nada. Nil. The empty set. I got more substance (and some ticket thingies on accounta my mad Skee-Ball skills) out of the dinner I had @ Chuck E. Cheese, afterward.

  2. Having grown up in the San Jose area, I've been to the Rosicrucian a few times, but never to the Winchester Mystery House. Perhaps it's because it's because I felt I lived in it. My mom has always been a bad combination of pack rat and tinkerer, not in a good way. Lots of unfinished projects around the house. But I digress. I like your blue on blue picture a lot!

  3. I gotta say: the house tour is kinda cool. Almost worth it.

Of course, I was touring on Donna's dime (she got them at less-than-market-value in an auction. Long story. Nothing unsavory. Really).

I've actually performed in a couple of corporate murder-mystery gigs there, too. The staff was pretty nice, I gotta say.

Thanks for the update, Heidi. I saw some statues out in the garden through the windows while I was on the house tour. So, I think I got the gist...

Thanks for the kind words re the pic, Geoff! I admire your photo skills. So, your praise means a lot.
