R.I.P. Sun Valley Market: UPDATE

As I mentioned before, the Sun Valley Market is no more. It's soon to be replaced by something called Room Service, a "high-end food & wine market" (at least according to the guy who designed the logo).

I was talking about it with my friend, Diana, and she said they were going to include home delivery. The next day, I saw this as I was walking back from my Sunday adventures:

How long has that been there?! I have really got to start paying attention...

The only website I could find for a store called Room Service is a furniture store in Hayes Valley that's part of some mini-chain.

BUT, I Googled the phone number pictured above and got this. So, they're in the phone book at least!

Will a fancy food & wine home delivery/personal shopping service fly in these belt-tightening times? I guess we'll just have to wait & see.

Kale: It's Not Just For Eating Anymore

Donna's latest blog post inspired me...

Kale is good for you. And pretty, too. But, I'm not sure if you should eat the purple part...

Coincidentally (but not ironically), Donna made an awesome kale & couscous salad for lunch yesterday. Please note this was a different bunch of kale and not what we have in the vase at the moment...

And so it was that later

as the TV told a tale.

We had salad, made up mostly,

of a greener shade of kale
(with apologies to Procol Harum)

The Gospel According to IN-N-OUT Burger

It's no secret that IN-N-OUT Burger references Christian Bible quotes on their wrappers & cups (but, not on the French fry containers for some reason).

Donna and I stopped at the IN-N-OUT in Placerville, CA recently and I thought I'd snap a few pics for those folks who may not have an IN-N-OUT near them...
